I wonder if Racing Champions didn't want to pay the fees to Goodyear to use the name or if they lost the license to use Goodyear Tiresketchupman36https://www.blogger.com/profile/13633947289625312949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3363199518707385911.post-71574276915031805982016-09-17T15:49:22.386-07:002016-09-17T15:49:22.386-07:00Something I noticed after I posted my comment... Y...Something I noticed after I posted my comment... Your first Irvan diecast has Goodyear Eagles, but the nicer diecast says "RACING CHAMPIONS" on the tires. A friend of mine got me into it... Neither of us follow NASCAR these days. It seems like there are a lot more former NASCAR fans than NASCAR fans these days.

I used to have a bunch of diecasts, but I gave most of them away at some point after I drifted away... But somewhere in a box I still have the Kulwicki die casts, and I think a couple of others.

I liked Ernie Irvan, although I was a fan of Alan Kulwicki. Just looking at the die cast reminds me of when I used to watch every race on TV.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3363199518707385911.post-13239309170478501462016-09-15T23:06:16.435-07:002016-09-15T23:06:16.435-07:00Good to know that there is a checklist! I'...Do you still have your diecast collection?

I'm definitely nostalgic for the old NASCAR as well. I've tried watching a recent race but it just wasn't the same.ketchupman36https://www.blogger.com/profile/13633947289625312949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3363199518707385911.post-46018044981903532722016-09-15T09:26:19.153-07:002016-09-15T09:26:19.153-07:00Great post. The card is on the Database... it's the only place in the world where you can find an accurate listing of the cards that came with Racing Champions cars ... mostly accurate anyway. Still, I'll always have a good bit of nostalgic leaning when it comes to those days in the late 90's/early 00's. My die-cast collection was always divided two ways: toys and cool stuff. Obviously, I played with the lesser cars and displayed the nicer ones. Tony Burbshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17916383902665781661noreply@blogger.com
